Lisa Murray is an artist

About

Lisa Murray grew up in Baile Ghib, a small Gaeltacht in County Meath, where Irish is more than just a language—it’s a way of life. Growing up in a rural Gaeltacht on a diet of Taylor Swift and Fleetwood Mac, she craved music that fused her love of pop with her native language. So, she decided to create it.

After years of writing songs alone in her bedroom, Lisa earned a degree in Music and Modern Irish at Trinity College Dublin before completing her Master’s in Music Production, Technology & Innovation at Berklee College of Music, where she was awarded their Outstanding Woman Scholarship and mentored by superstar audio engineer Sylvia Massy (Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince).

Self-producing her first singles from her childhood bedroom during the pandemic, Lisa quickly found herself on radio stations nationwide. Her breakthrough single ‘i unfollowed u’ hit over 3 million radio impacts, landed in Ireland’s top 200 Shazam chart and top 10 Irish Radio Breakers Chart, and cemented her place as a rising force in pop. But it was uaigneach—her first Irish-language release—that truly set her apart. Fans on TikTok called her “Gaeilgeoir Swift”, and with over 1.2 million views on the platform since embracing Irish-language content in late 2024, Lisa realised she had found something special.

Since then, she’s been everywhere—performing on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, being named  One to Watch for 2025 by TodayFM, being selected as a finalist for the Local Hero Talent competition on LMFM during Irish Music Month 2024, performing at Lá Mór na Gaeilge and filming an upcoming music show with TG4.

This year, she’s stepping into her next chapter with more passion than ever, crafting more bilingual music that fuses Irish-language storytelling with the kind of polished, infectious pop that belongs on the global stage. For Lisa, this isn’t just about music—it’s about showing the world that the Irish language belongs in pop culture, and she’s ready to lead the way.
